Seeking Experienced Health Coaches:

Become a certified Health Navigator Coach and join the first cohort shaping a new type of coaching.

2026 marks the launch of Health Shift Year, a new kind of wellness initiative from Strategic Action Health (SAH).

Guided by the process outlined in the book Health Shift: Your Personalized Guide to Making Strategic Health Decisions by Dr. Alice Burron, Health Navigator Coaching helps clients improve their health decision-making skills. This approach teaches health literacy skills in real-time.

We’re inviting a select group of already-certified Health Coaches to be trained as Health Navigator Coaches. Once Health Navigator Coaches are trained, they are eligible to coach a specific SAH client starting in April 2026. Details will follow, but the expectation is that coaches in these two upcoming cohorts are interested in coaching 5-12 hours per week starting in April. Compensation information and other details will be given once acceptance into the training has been approved. Interested coaches are under no obligation until they agree to the terms and conditions after their application is approved.

Health Navigator Coach trainees will receive:

  • Live, interactive training and guided practice

  • Access to tools, frameworks, and challenges that drive real growth

  • Direct mentorship from the Strategic Action Health team

  • Early influence on the design of future cohorts

  • Priority placement within the partner organization

The cost of this training is $120 (discounted for these cohorts), and all participants will receive a Health Shift book before training and will take the Health Intelligence Assessment, a tool available to Health Navigator Coaching clients. Training also includes two live mentoring sessions and ongoing guidance, support, and resources throughout 2026.

If you’re ready to help pioneer a person-centered, innovative coaching approach — and you’re curious what it feels like to be part of something new in the field of coaching — this is your moment.

What is a Health Navigator Coach?

Health Navigator Coaches help participants navigate a health concern. The goal of a coaching session is to provide clients with one or more of the following:

  • Ability find, understand, and use health information to make better-informed health decisions

  • A better understanding of what might be happening with their health

  • Clarity about what to do next

  • Confidence in the following steps to recovery

  • Practical actions to try right away and a process to track results

  • Provide resources or ideas to explore further

  • Help clients make sense of the information they already have

  • Provide health numeracy skill-building

Health Navigator Coaches help clients decode health patterns, critically evaluate options, and apply the Health Shift approaches and tools in real-world decision-making. This requires additional skills beyond health coaching while also leaning into health coaching skills. This role blends health coaching, health literacy, mindset development, health awareness, and guided strategic health problem solving.

This training is designed for coaches who are open-minded to learning new approaches to helping people heal and recover from health issues. This is essentially a masterclass coaching training, which will become a full course available to all Health Coaches shortly afterwards. This is the first iteration and fast-track training. In these trainings, Health Navigator Coaches must be able to think dynamically, be comfortable learning new skills, and be patient and open-minded.
